I love the fall. Some may say it's because I celebrate my birthday all fall long, but I think otherwise. I love the weather, colors, costumes, pumpkin treats, cinnamon, boots, hay rides, decor, and candy. Landon and I kicked off fall with two of our favorite friends - Camille and Tony. Thanks to Camille's keen eye for killer-surprise-groupon-dates...we went to a Ken's Korny Corn Maze! And we pretty much rocked the maze.

Riss and David in DC
My first ever trip to the DC area was fabulous, thanks to our cousins David and Marissa. We just wanted to go and spend time with them, but they really went to extra mile and took us all over town.
Unfortunately, one of the best parts of the trip was not allowed to be photographed - visiting David's place of employment. Just the Pentagon. No big deal. Okay, it IS a big deal and Landon and I could have stayed there all day. 1. Because it was like a private American history museum tour. And 2. Because we just felt cool and special being in there.
Although there were no pictures allowed within 1000 miles of the pentagon, somehow Landon managed to snap this gem after we left. Neither of us are great with the camera, so we just take 500 pictures of whatever we are doing, and hope that we get at least 3 good ones in the process. And every now an again, we get a great paparazzi shot like this one.
Love it. No idea what is going on here, but I love it. Perhaps Marissa could leave a comment for further explanation, ha.
Beyond that, we saw so many other spectacular things. National Mall, Air and Space Museum, Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Memorial, Washington's home @ Mt. Vernon, Quantico, DC Cupcakes, and more.
Church was cancelled on Sunday (seriously) due to some flooring issues/fumes. So Sunday morning we got an early start on our plans to go and visit baby David's grave with some beautiful fresh flowers Marissa had prepared. His grave is in Quantico National Cemetary which is a beautiful, organized, peaceful, and spiritual place to be. I had so many thoughts and feelings as we were there, but mostly what I felt was that Heaven is very near us. Baby David is very special to Landon and I, just like his parents are.

Back to School
Landon and I are well into our new school year, but we did take photo's of our first day!
Landon is now in his 2nd year of medical school. He is doing rotations in the hospital and is starting out with OB/GYN. He really likes it so far!
I spend my time as the counseling intern at Fayetteville Street Elementary and JD Clement Early College High School. In the evenings I am still in class. Below is my cute little elementary school.

New Little Nieces
I had two little nieces born and blessed this summer. I was not able to be there for the actual blessing days, but I was there right before and got to see them all dressed up in the their blessing dresses, and take some pictures of them. They are both so precious.
Introducing...
Macie Munns and Brielle Faldmo
They are beautiful babies with beautiful mamas.
Brielle Faldmo
And even though this post is about the new little nieces, I can't help but include Mikayla.
Los Angeles Trip
This summer I was lucky enough to spend over a month with me and Landon's families. It went something like this: Utah. Idaho. Utah. Arizona. California. Arizona. North Carolina.
It was a BLAST! I took a ton of pictures because Nicki's family is just so dang cute. I couldn't get enough of them. Brielle was just the best little newborn, as we drug her around the city. And Mikayla was a 2 year old. She is a talkative little girl now, and although what she mostly says to me is, "No Maegan, NO NO Maegan", I know she'll love me someday :)
p.s. Did you know my sister lives on the lawn of the Los Angeles Temple? More to come on that point.

quote of the day:
"We've only seen homeless people so far, right? I'll just put my boob pads in while I'm walking."
