Carolina Beach
This weekend we went to Carolina Beach with some friends and had a grand time relaxing in the sun. My husband, who doesn't really believe in sunscreen, is now a lobster. Landon and I were playing catch, and he asked me when I learned how to throw like a boy--thanks dad. The beach is about 2 hours from where we are, so I think we will be going a few more times this summer!
My Classmates
I am in the most wonderful graduate program at North Carolina Central University. I am studying school & mental health counseling. I love school counseling, but I decided to do some extra work for the mental health part, so I can be licensed to run my own private practice. It has been lots of work, but I love it. One year down, one more to go. Here are pictures of a few of my cute new friends.

Easter Visitors
We were very lucky that this Easter we had some family in town! Our cousins, David & Marissa, stopped by our place on their drive from San Diego to D.C. We had such a great time with them and are excited to have some family somewhat near to us now!
While they were here we followed the usual routine of taking them to see our campuses and to explore the great city of Durham, but this time was a bit different than previous tours, because David happens to be a Tar Heel fan :) Don't get me wrong, his enthusiasm when we went into Cameron Indoor was incredible, but we also went down down to Chapel Hill and had lunch, saw the UNC campus, and checked out Dean Smith Arena.

Landon also spends his 'free time' these days working in a lab killing cancer cells, and so he showed us around and let us look at his dying cells. David seemed to get what was going on - Marissa and I just smiled and nodded.
The best thing we did all weekend was go to church and have the opportunity to celebrate the miracle of the sacrifice and resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ. Landon and I feel each day how the atonement of Jesus Christ positively influences our lives, and we are eternally grateful for the great gift of both physical and spiritual redemption He has given to us. The Easter Bunny really pales in comparison, especially this year :)
